Hi, we're Grub Records, a new record shop, wine bar, hi-fi music spot, and generally fun hangout in Sheffield. We're a small shop run by a big team, where we stock an ever-growing selection of dancefloor-focused records alongside a seasonal selection of incredible low-intervention wines.
We currently stock between 500-1000 records at any one time, with each one hand-selected by our team for their effectiveness on a variety of dancefloors. We stock a mix of new and second-hand stock, with a tightly selected batch of only the hottest new releases added to the shelves weekly and second-hand stock brought in now and then from either our own collections or those of other DJs and selectors in the city.
The wine menu is a small but uncompromising selection of seasonal, low-intervention wines, and is put together by one of our cousin's (who happens to be the Sommelier for a Michelin star restaurant). We have just two servings, glass or bottle, and usually stock between 10-12 different wines covering a whole range of palettes.
Wednesdays and Thursdays we just open for a few hours in the evening, while Fridays and Saturdays run as a shop 'til 9ish and a low-key dancing spot afterwards until we close. An ever-changing selection of DJs provide the soundtrack on the weekends, with regular stop-ins by touring DJs while they're in town playing one of our crew's parties.
While we've only been open six months, the spot has already been called things such as 'nice', 'good', and even 'fun'. Jokes aside we're very proud of our little grub and hope you come for a visit soon!
